Terra Strata Cascade — Handmade Ceramic Wall Hanging

Sale price$128.00

The Santa Cruz Mountains tell their story in layers. In the rock faces along the highway. In the cut banks of creeks after rain. Layer upon layer of earth, pressed and shifted over millions of years.

This piece tells that same story.

Terra Strata Cascade is a handmade ceramic wall hanging... three discs each in a different clay body, each one a different layer of the natural world. White speckled clay at the top pressed with abalone and coral... the ocean, light and ancient. Dark night clay in the center textured to evoke the compressed layers of mountain rock... deep, geological, dramatic. Sandy river rock clay at the bottom pressed with redwood needles — the forest floor, warm and grounded.

Ocean. Mountain. Forest. Three worlds in one piece, cascading downward on silver and gunmetal metals.

At the center of the bottom disc, chrysocolla and green jade wire wrapped in silver. Chrysocolla creates openness and acceptance of new situations, of yourself, of others. Green jade brings harmony and good fortune, opening the heart to abundance. Together they ground this piece in gentle, open energy.

This is nature inspired wall art that carries the full story of coastal California living. The layers of the land. The meeting of ocean and mountain and forest. All of it here, pressed into clay, kiln fired, finished by hand.

One of one. Never to be made again exactly like this.

In a world of mass production... this is the slow way.
