Speckled white clay, iron coming up dark through the surface in flecks. A sun cut at the center, rays opening out around the hole. Then the lines... fields of them, running one direction and then turning, each field set against the one beside it so the whole face shifts as you move. Mocha underglaze pressed down into every cut and wiped back off the surface. Gloss over the top. Chocolate brown Italian leather. Brass accents. Born in the Santa Cruz Mountains of California.
At 1.75 inches it sits close and reads clean. Small enough for a Tuesday, graphic enough that it never once disappears. Against a white shirt with the sleeves rolled. Over black. With denim and gold.
