A real leaf pressed into wet clay... veins, stem, every ragged edge held exactly where it landed. Deep sea blue glaze pools across the top half like water reaching the shore, then stops clean at the line. Below it, raw terracotta left completely unglazed... warm, matte, the clay exactly as it came out of the earth. Half sea, half ground. Rich brown Italian leather. Brass accents throughout. Born in the Santa Cruz Mountains of California, because that is where the walk happened.
The one bold thing against a black turtleneck. Over linen in August. With denim and nothing else, because nothing else is needed. This is the piece someone asks about across the table before you have finished sitting down.
