Terracotta under clear gloss, which takes raw red clay somewhere deep and almost edible... a true chocolate brown with light moving across the surface of it. Lines cut into the face without a plan, some fine and close together, some long and loose, running down the piece like rain on a window. A rectangle instead of a circle, with the opening set high and clean. Natural Italian leather, pale against all that dark. Brass accents. Born in the Santa Cruz Mountains of California.
